Alex has been in love with jokes for the past few months. We've progressed from his trying to remember jokes and getting them wrong quite a bit... to trying to making up his own jokes - which didn't work at all... to him editing and trying to change jokes. This part has been fun.
Daddy taught him the "Interrupting Cow" joke a while back, and he loved it. Consistently, it was the one joke he could remember to tell people, and usually told it right:
"Knock Knock"
- "Who's There?"
"Interrupting Cow"
- "Interrupting Cow Wh..."
MOO!
This past few weeks, Alex has started playing with this joke. Dad has helped him come up with several iterations. Between the two of them, they've devised...
- Interrupting Dinosaur (roar!)
- Interrupting Tiger (roar!)
- Interrupting [fill in any animal here] ([correct animal noise here])
- Interrupting LIbrarian (shhh!)
- Interrupting Mime ([put hand out silently as if to say "stop!"])
Occasionally, Alex will get it wrong... like "Interrupting carseat"... then realize he doesn't know how to do the punchline.
At a birthday party today, Daddy was working with him, and playing another fun game of pretending to confuse Hannah Montana with Darth Vader. It goes something like this:
Alex: I love Darth Vader
Daddy: Me too... I love how he sings and has the long, beautiful blonde hair...
Alex: NO! That's not Darth Vader!
Daddy: What? Yes it is... she sings, and is on the Disney channel...
Alex: giggle, giggle, giggle
So, sometime in that conversation, Alex made up his newest interrupting joke...
Knock Knock
- Who's there?
Interrupting Darth Vader
- Interrupting Darth Vad...
