Update on Carter

In the past few months, Carter has changed from a barely toddling baby to a full fledged toddler! He is very interested in learning new words, and has become recently empowered with a strong "NO!" and shakes his finger. Often, I'm not sure he actually means "no", I think he just enjoys rendering his opinion and hasn't yet learned how to say "yes!"

He has words for "water", "up", "down", "dogs", "Mommy", "Daddy", "Alex" and can make several animal sounds (Snake, Cow, Duck, Dinosaur, Tiger, Bear, Chicken, and sticks his tongue out for Lizard). He loves holding any type of phone-like item up to his ear and exclaiming "Helloooh?" Sometimes he'll add "Love you" and "Bye". He has recently started actually making kisses, with puckering noises, instead of the simple lip-touches he was doing. He likes holding our hands when he walks, and especially likes watching and copying what Alex does. He has some sign language down, like "please" and "more". When he sees something he really wants, like a cookie, he looks like the coach of a baseball team frantically giving secret signs trying to get the "please", "more" and "THAT I WANT THAT" sign language signs out.

He still hasn't had his first hair cut... it's getting a bit scrappy, but there just doesn't seem to be enough to warrant a real cut yet.

He is still very much a cuddler, and likes burrowing his head in our shoulders. He is very wary of strangers, in fact... simply refusing to go to them isn't a strong enough of a reaction for him, he must actually glare at others with disdain!

Though he isn't as frequently smiley as he was as a baby, he is still so adorable when he smiles. When he runs towards me calling me name, it's like I'm on cloud 9!
