We have this little $10 potty watch for Alex that helps him remember to go potty. He wears it on his wrist, and every 30, 60 or 90 minutes (we set) it plays a tune, very off key. Alex *loved* it the first time, and now wears it when we remind him it will help him not have accidents, which seems of interest to him. Sure enough, usually when he hears the tune, he'll stop what he's doing and go in and potty. I don't know if it works at school and day care, but it seems to.
The other night, Alex fell asleep on the drive home, so Daddy took off his watch and shoes and just placed him in bed in his clothes. About 1/2 an hour later, we heard this weird noise and thump, then crying. The potty watch (still in Alex's bedroom) had started singing its tune, and like Pavlov's responsive dog salivating when he hears the dinner bell, sleepy Alex trudged into the bathroom to do his duty. Of course, he was too sleepy, and fell into the stool. I have this vision where he's a grown man, and somewhere in the distance hears a very off key digital version of "London Bridge is Falling Down" and has an immediate and not-understood inclination to go potty.
