After about a gallon and a half of drool each day, Carter is finally cutting some teeth. You can see the white tooth noodling its way in on the bottom, and feel one coming in on top too. I would expect that to be extremely painful and sensitive... yet, Carter remains happy and cheerful and smiley. One of his teachers was telling me today that he was getting Carter giggling and giggling today by nuzzling him in the neck... yep, we do that to and Carter thinks it is *hilarious*. He's also ticklish under his arms. He was a bit fussy tonight, but still cheerful and happy and just so much fun.
Carter is also starting to get so tickled by Alex. For a while now, when Alex wears his "Lightning McQueen" hat with two big eyeballs on the top, Carter will just stare at him in the car and start laughing if Alex bends down to pick up a toy or book... thus placing the eyes closer to Carter, then farther away. When Carter is at the dinner table in his high chair (he's eating a whole little container of baby food for dinner now, in addition to cereal, and consuming as much milk as before), he just *watches* Alex. Alex better get used to it, I don't think he'll be able to shake his little brother.
Meanwhile, Alex is doing so well with his letters. He's starting to want to sound out letters in some words, and is always asking us about things, "What does that say?" He is always interested in helping me cook in the kitchen, though lately his interest seems to be centered in "Can I try that?" with every ingredient we use. (No kidding, he spent most of our brocolli-salad-making time licking salt off his fingers).
